Overlooking the lands of Perlin is the Roduran Serra, the largest mountain range on Aurora. Visible for hundreds of kilometres around the serra keeps the climate stable, the Perlin sea watered, and the western steppes dry. Many of its dry rocky hills are inhabited despite al the dangers becaus the serra is a powerful beacon of magical leylines making it a place of power to create enchantments and sustain great works. This property lead to the two oldest settlements on the serra; the dwarven kingdom of Dahl, and the mage’s spires of the Arcanum built right over the strongest locus of power.
At the southern edge of the serra lies the kingdom of Goldcrest, built, as its name implies, near a rich gold vein, and since they took control of a port on the Perlin sea they have been able to trade the precious metal for all kinds of goods, making it the fastest growing settlement on the east of Aurora.

The mountain peaks reach far over the snow line, forming a tangled web of cracked valleys, ravines and treacherous mountain paths, in which the ravages of the war against the dragon tyrant still lie, soldiers, airships and the skeletons of long dead dragons frozen between the cliffs, ready for the taking.
Beneath the rock, the tunnels dwarves and men have carved into the mountain for centuries lie hidden, holding secrets from the world, or infested with opportunistic underground dwellers. Trolls are by far the most common threats to the inhabitants of the serra, thriving in the tunnels within the mountain, preying on beasts and travelers alike, and occupying abandoned fortresses and outposts. Earth elementals constantly spawn from the womb of the mountain, ready to surprise unaware miners, but the most terrifying danger of the mountains are the Ice Wraiths. These frightening spirits are a corruption of those frozen to death in the mountains, trapped in eternal pain and howling constantly to no one’s ears. They ravage their victims mind, trying to revive the memories of the warmth and fire they once enjoyed in life, and once its gone, tey tear the to shreds.
Weapons of the old war have been left abandoned on the mountains, mostly in the form of crashed airships, but dwarven artillery has been found preserved in the snow, and kingdoms, specially the kingdom of Goldcrest pay high prices for these relics.
