Brikans are small creatures, usually measuring between 70cm up to a meter, that look very similar to lemurs, they have huge yellow eyes that see very well in low light conditions, long tails and arms that make them excellent climbers, large and sensitive ears that makes them perfectly adapted to their homeland, the deepest forests of Aurora. They live in tight-knit family groups that follow an elder couple, building vast networks of hanging dwellings among the largest trees.
All brikans have a natural aptitude for mind and spirit magic, and they are comfortable linking their minds to others their kind, and are used to converse through subtle psychic and visual clues, as such brikans have no true spoken or written language, so their manner of speak is stiff, shameless and awkward when communicating with other races, completely ignoring any and all social cues. because of that they appear to be extremely literal, and unfeeling, even when that could not be different from the truth.
Brikans have built huge hanging cities between the trees, working by the hundreds while singing in whispers, harmonies so complex that form a terrifying tapestry of sound to the ones unaware of how much information is hidden between every action.
They defend their homeland fiercely, usually trying to turn away visitors of their forest by confusing them with illusions, sending creepy uneasy feelings to visitors, or scaring them from the forest’s shadows, but if an unwanted visitor refuses to turn away, or worse, damages the forest in any way, they have no qualms to slaughter them, and bury the corpses where they would feed their trees.
Since they are so community driven, a lone Brikan is extremely rare, and if they are adventuring, they are either leaving their community for a specific task that will help them, and return, or have been deemed a pariah deserving of the strongest punishment they know; to be exiled and ritually forgotten by their clan.
